this is what i've been toiling on...

you might wonder why i've been bad at emailing friends and family...
or why i've been working so late at night...
why i never call anyone anymore...

well, here's 1/3 of the reason why. check out our new look!

the other 2/3:
- 1/3 running any free chance i can
- 1/3 another work project (to be unveiled in the coming months!)

on the road again

so i finally rode my bike to work again today! it was the first time from my new apartment, and the first time to my new office.

and then i promptly forgot. and now its late and i have to ride home in the dark. doh. i guess its a good thing i always keep my lights on me.

i'm going to ride the bike leg of a triathlon in may. i haven't been on my bike in eons and i don't want to suck, so it's time to get crack-a-lackin' on the wheels again.

should be fun. i'm getting back to my rootz i guess.

apple windows love?

this is too good to be true...
hope...
light at the end of a dark tunnel...
the day is drawing nearer when i can finally...

RUN WINDOWS ON A MAC!

{angels sing!}
{the clouds open and the sun shines!}

the contest was proposed a few months ago, when apple came out with the first mac to run on an intel chipset, and it looks like the challenge was met. for a mere $14k, a user named "narf" has brought hope to the lives of the sad, design-saavy windows users...

oh sweet pretty computer love... that sleek thin white shell can finally be mine... smacking lips deliciously...

if you still need ideas for a birthday present for me, here's a GREAT one:

empty

sorry. my brain is empty. i don't know what to blog about. i have like 1 second to squeeze a post in before i rush off to do something else at work, but i'm shooting blanks.

things i've been doing lately?

well...

i had a race on sunday - 5 miles. went well. improved my times again.

we had friends over for dinner sunday - saw their new baby. super cute. and conor made an awesome 4-course meal, using some new veggies i picked out at the farmers market - kohlrabi, sweet pea blossoms, purple potatoes, dandelion greens. we also cut into one of the homemade sausages he's been curing, and tried out some homemade goat cheese he made from aging/drying a container of goat milk yogurt. it was amazing. i'll try to get him to post the recipe for the cheese.

i keep working crappy hours. 2 weeks to go till the madness ends...

its cold here. snowed in the santa cruz mountains. snow on twin peaks. rain everywhere else.

we've got a big game conference next week - GDC (game developers conf). should be a nice change of pace.

and. um.

and that's about it. see why my mind is blank? i don't have time for myself anymore. i feel a little numb. but that might just be due to the fact that i'm wearing flip flops when its 40 degrees out.

(delete the 'n' in numb and insert a 'd'?)

bye, push

sad news - a colleague of mine from the MIT Media Lab passed away a few weeks ago. i didn't know him very well, but knew of him and his work on machine learning/commen sense. he was recently hired to join the MIT faculty. i'm not sure the cause of death, but this is a big loss for the school...
